Noble Houses

House Baratheon of Storm’s End, Dragonstone and the Seven Kingdoms
Head of house, Lord Renly Baratheon
King of Westeros, King Robert Baratheon
and Lord of Dragonstone Lord Stannis Baratheon
The Baratheon sigil is a crowned black stag on a field of gold. Members of the family tend to be tall and powerfully built, with black hair and blue eyes, as well as strong, square jawlines. They are known for their mercurial tempers, and their words are “Ours is the Fury”.

House Burley
Head of house, Lord Grigg Burley
House Burley, formerly Clan Burley, has undergone several changes in leadership over the years. There was a violent civil war that occurred within after one of the leaders died and a more barbaric leader was thrust into power. With the intervention of House Cazaleta, a new leader has taken charge and wants to help civilize his people and become less of an isolationist culture.

House Cazaleta of Wolf’s Watch
Head of house, Lord Ian Cazaleta and the Lady Layna Cazaleta.
A new house formed roughly 16 years ago at the end of Robert’s rebellion when House Cazaleta was granted lands in the north. Hpuse Cazaleta has gained respect in the smallfolk it lords over and any nobles in the North that do not fear to break tradition. For instance, House Umber recognizes the potential greatness of House Cazaleta with a strong woman to lead them, where those that dislike the house do so because there is no longer a Lord Stark of Wolf’s Watch but instead has been given to Cazaleta.

House Ironsmith of Sanguine Hall
Head of house, Lord Imry Ironsmith
A minor house that resides at the the edge of the Stark household’s primary lands. In the years since the Targaryen Conquest their lands have shrunk, wealth has dwindled and the family has grown smaller and more sickly. Thinking it would be different during Robert’s Rebellion they decided to back the Targaryens instead of offering resistance like they did hundreds of years ago. They picked the wrong side of the war several times and their house has paid for it dearly.

House Lannister of Casterly Rock
Head of house, Lord Tywin Lannister
Their seat is Casterly Rock, though another branch exists that is based in nearby Lannisport. Their sigil is a golden lion on a field of crimson. Their official motto is “Hear Me Roar!” However, their unofficial motto, equally well known, is “A Lannister always pays his debts.” The Warden of the West is traditionally a Lannister.

House Stark of Winterfell
Head of house, Lord Eddard Stark
House Stark of Winterfell is one of the great houses of Westeros and the principal noble house of the North; many lesser houses are sworn to them. In days of old they ruled as Kings of Winter; since the Targaryen Conquest they have been Wardens of the North. Their seat, Winterfell, is an ancient castle renowned for its strength. Their sigil is a grey direwolf racing across a field of white, and their words are “Winter Is Coming”, one of only a few house mottoes to be a warning rather than a boast

House Umber of Last Hearth
Head of house, Lord Greatjon Umber
House Umber of the Last Hearth is one of the main noble houses in the North. They are sworn to Winterfell and House Stark, to whom they are fiercely loyal. The head of the house is Lord Jon Umber, called “the Greatjon”. The Umber sigil is a roaring giant, brown-haired and wearing a skin, with broken silver chains, on flame-red.
